
Interior Designer

BASIC FUNCTION
To create and develop design plans of an assigned project during the schematic and design development stages of the project that conforms to the client’s design concept and project space utility.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Project Coordination
– Provides constant project updates to the Immediate Supervisor or Principal Architect ranging from project status, current design stage to possible or present project issues.
– Collaborates with other departments involved in preliminary planning of design for design intent and project conflict resolution, if any.
– Collaborates with allied professionals for the utility of the design intent and/or partner design consultant as required in the project.
– Keeps communication line open for client’s queries regarding the project
- Conceptualization Phase
– Reviews assigned project information as designated by the business planning and development team or as assigned by the Immediate Supervisor.
– Prepares preliminary design concept and layout as the result of project research and design team conceptualization for approval of the client and/or Principal Architect.
– Represents the company in client/site meetings, and/or product presentation.
- Schematic Phase
– Prepares the schematic design and plan of the project based from meeting the client and initial design proposal review and approval.
– Provides other supplemental drawings and documents like material boards and perspectives as needed for presentation and approval of the final schematic design.
- Design Development
– Prepares the working drawings of the project as schematic design is approved.
– Maintains continual communication with the design team for design intent and materials revision purposes, if any, or as needed for the project.
– Provides solutions to working drawings conflict by responding to technical questions.
– Provides additional drawings or documents like furniture customization as needed for the project, schedule of furniture, lighting and plumbing fixtures and finishes for the client’s perusal.
– Facilitates site meeting as requested for full assessment and assurance of proper coordination of design.
- Supervision
– Provides guidance to Junior Designers under the team ranging from design knowledge to technical, as needed.
- Others
– Any other duties and responsibilities as instructed by the Immediate Supervisor and/or to attain the organizational goals.
– Records minutes of meeting and regularly check incoming and outgoing emails.
– Keeps back up records of any files and documents involving the handled projects.
JOB QUALIFICATION
Candidates must possess the ff:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design and/or any other related fields.
- Preferably with license, however non license-holder may also apply.
- At least 3-5 years and above broad work experience in interior design especially in design conceptualization, ff/e selection, and styling various projects.
- Exhibits thorough understanding of zoning, building code, and other regulatory requirements as they relate to the project.
- Must have working knowledge of complex building materials and systems, details, and construction techniques.
- Must be well-versed in various softwares utilized in interior design especially with autocad, sketch-up, vray, and photoshop. Any additional softwares expertise is a plus.
- Knowledgeable with microsoft offices especially word, excel, and presentations.
- Must be still able to sketch design concept and layout for design visualization.
- Exhibits strong strategic and creative reasoning in preparing design proposal and vital project decision-making that can affect the overall output of the project.
- Exhibits meticulous eye for detail and material selection.
- Must be people-oriented and can work with minimal supervision.
