Project Hotel: Y Hotel
Location: Station 3, Aklan Boracay
Y hotel is 4-storey high-end hotel located in the island of Boracay, Aklan. The design aligns itself with its intended market: tourists of the younger generation. It is a smart building infused with an architecture of tropical sensibilities.The challenge involves the utilization of the given lot—a sloping topography to the beach.
The design aims to project a sense of tranquility, a serene architecture with the use of diagonal and vertical geometry. The play in elevation enables an expansive view for the users. For instance, the lobby placed at the highest point of the property engages the sight to the vast sea, almost instantaneously. And wood and distressed surfaces marks a distinct look that ages well.
Y Hotel Boracay sets a fresh feel right at the start of the island’s rehabilitation, bringing in the millennials into a new tropical experience.
