Project Title: C’blu
Location: Sibolo Island, Caluya, Antique
Project Status: Proposed
By its isolation, the island of Sibolo in Antique offers an opportunity for a big scale development. The master plan was carefully designed to respond to the challenges the island presents. With the island’s history of having a high elevation, design problem begins with the accessibility of the island. To solve this, architecture embarks from a long and scenic boardwalk placed at the boat wharf to the beach.
Also known as the Sibolo Island Development, it offers many recreational spaces and amenities. The entire development includes an architecture that corresponds to four specific themes—eras throughout Philippine history. From the existing lighthouse, the development is divided into its four themed sectors labeled as “towns”—Balangay (pre-colonial), Pueblo (Spanish colonial), Suburb (American-colonial), and Ciudad (post-colonial Philippines).
